Fair Play

Fair Play is one of the largest organizations in Denmark working against racism and discrimination, socio-cultural work and media analysis.
It was founded in June 1991, to highlight the unequal conditions of the ethnic minorities in the Danish society. It is working to co-ordinate and strengthen anti racist work in Denmark. Members differ, ethnically, nationally, politically, religiously and professionally. They come from different parts of the world and are dedicated to the cause of harmonious relations between different groups.

Fair Play does lobby work, with the parliament, political parties, and grassroots and anti racist organizations. It gives out reports, information, holds conferences, seminars and debates on issues affecting the society. It takes part in media debates and works very closely with ethnic minority and solidarity organizations in Denmark and abroad. It sends out teams of lecturers to schools, colleges and other institutions of learning.

Fair Play is very much aware of the cultural racism, structural discrimination and media’s one sided portrayal of non-European residents. It believe that unless and until mass-media in Denmark and in the Western World does not live up to it’s moral and professional ethics, it would be impossible for the ethnic minorities to be accepted in the European societies.

Fair Play has established a good working relationship with different anti-discriminatory organizations in U.K, Germany, France,Ireland, Holland,Belgium,Norway,Sweeden and Portugal. For the past 9 years, Fair Play has been highly appreciated for it’s lecture contributions and provision of factual data at various international conferences.

We would very much like to have the same contacts with your organization and can contribute with information, articles and up to- date data on discriminatory practices in Denmark and Scandinavia.

We can provide you the following study papers.

A paper on the latest development in the European Union on immigration, asylum and coordination of these policies.

A paper on the abuses of human rights in Danish legal system.

·        A paper on the Scandinavian societies recent development with regards to Third World immigrants integration in these countries.

·        A report on the relationship between the police and the ethnic minorities in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi- religious society in Europe.

·        A report on media and minorities in the Danish society and the media’s willing contribution towards racists trends. In this context, we carry out systematic research, collect data and make analysis on media treatment of ethnic minorities. Our magazine Media Watch is published 4 times a year.

If there are any other topics, you would like us to contribute, we would be more than happy to do so. We would very much like to offer our expertise and information for conferences, seminars and workshops.
